The goal of a Backgammon match is to shift your checkers around the game board and get those pieces off the board quicker than your challenger who works harder to achieve the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Winning a game of Backgammon needsrequires both strategy and luck. Just how far you can move your checkers is left to the numbers from rolling a pair of dice, and just how you move your pieces are determined by your overall gambling plans. Players use differing techniques in the different parts of a match based on your positions and opponent’s.

The Running Game Strategy

The goal of the Running Game plan is to bring all your checkers into your inner board and bear them off as quickly as you could. This technique focuses on the pace of advancing your pieces with no efforts to hit or block your competitor’s pieces. The best time to use this technique is when you think you can move your own pieces quicker than the opposing player does: when 1) you have a fewer pieces on the board; 2) all your chips have past your opponent’s checkers; or 3) the opponent doesn’t employ the hitting or blocking plan.

The Blocking Game Plan

The primary goal of the blocking tactic, by its title, is to stop the competitor’s pieces, temporarily, not fretting about shifting your checkers quickly. After you’ve created the blockage for the opponent’s movement with a few pieces, you can move your other chips quickly off the board. The player really should also have an apparent strategy when to back off and move the checkers that you employed for the blockade. The game becomes interesting when the opponent utilizes the same blocking tactic.
