As we dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a casino game of skill and pure luck. The goal is to shift your checkers safely around the board to your inner board and at the same time your opposition shifts their pieces toward their home board in the opposing direction. With competing player pieces heading in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the requirement for particular strategies at specific instances. Here are the last 2 Backgammon strategies to finish off your game.
The Priming Game Tactic
If the goal of the blocking strategy is to slow down the opponent to shift their chips, the Priming Game plan is to completely stop any movement of the opponent by building a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s pieces will either get hit, or end up in a battered position if he/she at all tries to escape the wall. The ambush of the prime can be built anywhere between point 2 and point 11 in your half of the board. After you’ve successfully constructed the prime to block the movement of your competitor, your opponent does not even get a chance to roll the dice, that means you shift your chips and roll the dice again. You will be a winner for sure.
The Back Game Strategy
The objectives of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game technique are similar – to harm your competitor’s positions with hope to boost your odds of succeeding, but the Back Game tactic relies on different techniques to achieve that. The Back Game strategy is frequently employed when you are far behind your competitor. To play Backgammon with this strategy, you need to hold 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This technique is more challenging than others to play in Backgammon because it needs careful movement of your pieces and how the chips are moved is partly the outcome of the dice toss.
