The goal of a Backgammon game is to move your checkers around the Backgammon board and pull those pieces from the board quicker than your opponent who works harder to do the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Succeeding in a round of Backgammon requires both tactics and luck. How far you can shift your checkers is up to the numbers from rolling a pair of dice, and just how you move your checkers are decided on by your overall gambling techniques. Players use a number of strategies in the differing parts of a game depending on your positions and opponent’s.

The Running Game Technique

The aim of the Running Game plan is to bring all your chips into your home board and get them off as fast as you could. This technique concentrates on the pace of moving your chips with no efforts to hit or block your opponent’s pieces. The best scenario to employ this plan is when you believe you might be able to move your own pieces quicker than the opponent does: when 1) you have a fewer pieces on the game board; 2) all your pieces have past your competitor’s pieces; or 3) your opposing player doesn’t use the hitting or blocking tactic.

The Blocking Game Plan

The main goal of the blocking plan, by its title, is to stop your opponent’s chips, temporarily, while not worrying about shifting your pieces rapidly. After you’ve created the blockage for the opponent’s movement with a couple of chips, you can move your other chips rapidly from the board. The player should also have an apparent strategy when to back off and move the pieces that you used for blocking. The game gets interesting when your competitor utilizes the same blocking tactic.
