The objective of a Backgammon match is to shift your chips around the Backgammon board and pull those pieces off the game board faster than your challenger who works just as hard to attempt the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Succeeding in a match of Backgammon needsrequires both tactics and luck. Just how far you can shift your pieces is left to the numbers from tossing the dice, and just how you shift your pieces are decided on by your overall playing tactics. Enthusiasts use a few plans in the differing parts of a match dependent on your positions and opponent’s.

The Running Game Strategy

The goal of the Running Game tactic is to entice all your checkers into your inner board and bear them off as fast as you could. This plan focuses on the pace of moving your chips with no time spent to hit or stop your competitor’s pieces. The ideal time to use this tactic is when you believe you can shift your own pieces a lot faster than your opposing player does: when 1) you have less pieces on the board; 2) all your checkers have moved beyond your competitor’s pieces; or 3) your opposing player doesn’t employ the hitting or blocking tactic.

The Blocking Game Tactic

The primary aim of the blocking plan, by its title, is to block the opponent’s chips, temporarily, while not worrying about moving your checkers rapidly. Once you’ve established the blockade for your opponent’s movement with a few chips, you can move your other pieces swiftly off the board. The player will need to also have a good strategy when to withdraw and shift the chips that you employed for the blockade. The game becomes interesting when the opposition utilizes the same blocking strategy.
